The Oklahoma City Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (Vocal Sounds of Oklahoma) is an award-winning 501(c)(3) men’s a cappella chorus that has been giving back to the Oklahoma City metro since 1938. In 2002, one of our former members, Ed Sturm, set up an endowment fund with the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. This fund has continued to grow and continues to be a critical source of funding for our organization, especially through difficult times like COVID.
As a community non-profit, the Vocal Sounds of Oklahoma has performed for free to entertain audiences young and old at such events as the Oklahoma State Fair and the annual Memorial Day Service at the Kingfisher Cemetery; organized an annual Christmas Show for free to entertain families during the holiday season; assisted local high schools with donations made to help the next generation of youth to pursue the arts; and generously gifted the Bethany Children’s Health Center to help local children in need.
In efforts to help the Vocal Sounds of Oklahoma continue to not only preserve barbershop harmony for generations to come but also share the gift of barbershop harmony with the community it proudly serves, please consider making a donation (in any amount big or small) following the directions below.
